“we give permission to do things differently, when you think differently you action differently"

Steve Sims is the man who created Bluefish, the internationally famous company that makes once in a lifetime events happen for the rich and famous, he reveals to Ed Andrew rest of us his trade secrets for making things happen.

From bricklayer to rubbing shoulders with the world's elite, his clients include people who own countries, yet he is down to earth and has a humility and gentility that belies his somewhat menacing appearance.  Steve is a master of strategy and is a life long learner, while he has spoken on most of the world's largest stages he now goes back to learn from others.

Steve Sims’s day job is to make the impossible possible. With his help and expertise, his clients’ fantasies and wildest dreams come true. Getting married by the Pope in the Vatican, being serenaded by Elton John, and connecting with powerful business moguls like Elon Musk are just a few of the many projects he has worked on. He rarely reveals how he accomplishes the feats that make his clients so happy. Steve shares his practical tips, techniques, and strategies to help you break down any obstacle and turn their dreams into reality.

Talking points

  • the origins of Bluefishing, of gatekeepers and night clubs

  • explaining his speakeasy's, touring the GigaFactory with Elon Musk and wanting to give more substance from an early age, people want to be challenged and want to be surprised,

  • on getting getting you slightly uncomfortable, taking people to places they would not get and then they get them there they workshop with people you would never get access to such with Jim Kwik, Jay Abraham (11)

  • people who think differently, action differently

“we give people permission to do things differently” - and we give people a safe zone to fail and that is very important,  educate us why it failed, why it failed maybe a goldmine to others

  • 9/10 the biggest problems in business is you, if you failed at something maybe you were the problem but take the energy from that

  • the demographic of his speakeasy's speakeasy - entrepreneurs do not have a date stamp (18)

  • the world of an entrepreneur is tough and scary and comes with lots of scars and battering before you finally get to the top of the hill and coast a little - it is a horrible journey

  • we need to find a new word for failure, it only fails when you quit (23)

  • "they laugh at you until they applaud" says Elon Musk, failure only really bothers us when someone else sees it, or when we perceive it, so don't if people see you fail (26)

  • "if a bricklayer from London can work with the Vatican then you are out of excuses"

  • discussing focussing on your strengths not your weaknesses, get them uncomfortable, challenge them and then grant them permission (31)

  • I know enough to teach but not enough to stop - Jay Abraham, why he still goes to the conferences that he used to speak at, to learn from others

  • on not settling, and when it is time to move on - how he rates Joe Polish Genius Network as the best event he has been to, others he lovesTravis Chappell, Secret Knock by Greg Reid, (41)

  • on being in LA

  • discussing our fears, we either run into them or away from them (47)

  • how he created Bluefishing, and improving the 5 friends around him, creating a beautiful pedestal to watch humanity - (49)

  • Bluefishing was the vehicle, the Trojan horse to get in to speak to hugely affluent people, just like the podcast

  • people should not get so caught up in rejection

  • the future - a lot of speaking, I like to get into places I should really not be in -

  • what his kids give him for his birthday, he wants his birthday to be a reflection on the year,  (61)

  • being the richest person more so than all of his clients, because when his family's needs are met, they are safe, well cared, loved - that is your true wealth - 58
